9 Tech Tools to Improve Your Customer Service and Recession-Proof Your Business

As featured in REALTORMag YPN's The Lounge.

"I just didn't feel like she was putting the effort in needed to sell my home."

Whoa. Mic and jaw drop.

That is not a hypothetical statement. I just spoke to a homeowner who is beyond the point of frustration with his previous agent, who he dumped, and with what he vehemently labeled 'piss-pour' service.

Double yikes.

These are not only challenging times for many but scarily unstable times. For nervous homeowners, there is solace in knowing that, despite the uncertainty, in many markets real estate deals are only picking up 'steam'. Well, solace until intersecting with 'professional' (let's use that term very loosely) real estate agents or brokers that have not made customer service an A1/top priority.

Advantage: YOU

In both the best of times and the worst of times, customer service matters. But in the worst of times (cough *pandemic* cough *recession*), customer service can be the difference between your experiencing 'feast or famine'. I won't turn this into a written lecture (ugh!). Instead, here are just a few of my current (summer 2020) favorite tech-based tools (when used as directed; doctor's orders lol) to help your customer service differentiate and accelerate your business, particularly if you are a 'solo-preneur' without a team:

PropertyRadar (currently in some markets, expanding nationally by Sept. 2020) -- Get homeowner data that includes lead generation status updates (for example, if a mortgage is in default, etc.) with contact information that can include mail, email, phone AND social media.

Flash Briefings -- More builders are making Amazon's Alexa (home automation device) standard in homes so this Alexa Skill allows you to set up regular follow-up even after closing.

DotLoop's Earnnest Integration -- Did someone say encrypted digital transfers of earnest money directly from your electronic contract forms? Yes, please!

Chatfuel -- Need a more efficient way to keep up with multiple Facebook messages from your prospects? This is one of many to explore.

Transactly (discount code DRLEE; no kickbacks to me) -- Interested in a tech-based transaction coordinator? You are welcome!

MyOutDesk -- Need a full-on virtual assistant that has been vetted by global professionals? This is inquiry worthy.

Calendly or Assistant. To -- These are apps to stop the seemingly endless email tag of scheduling appointments.

BSafe -- This app helps to make sure when you are meeting a potential client (a.k.a. stranger danger), you have an inoffensive and unobtrusive way to let family, co-workers and even the police track your whereabouts.
