LEARN WITH LEE LESSONS: 5 Sentences that May Protect Closing Day

Leave it to the National Association of REALTORS® to not only inform us about a potential threat to our clients having a joyous closing date but also giving us a template to address the matter.  #ItPaysToBeARealtor

You may have heard of the uptick of wire fraud occurring, where unsuspecting real estate buyers send their hard earned funds to a fraudulent account, never to be seen again. As a trusted professional, we improve our service to our buyer and seller clients when we discuss and include in our home buying and selling guides the real threat of wire and cyber fraud. But go one step further, include in your email signature the National Association of REALTORS® notice template to act as a constant reminder to all you connect with by email:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Never trust wiring instructions sent via email. Cyber criminals are hacking email accounts and sending emails with fake wiring instructions. These emails are convincing and sophisticated.Always independently confirm wiring instructions in person or via a telephone call to a trusted and verified phone number. Never wire money without double-checking that the wiring instructions are correct.
